I just completed the Facebook module for 23 things. I did the first exercise since I already have a personal facebook account. I decided to search for a library in Las Vegas, Nevada because I have always wanted to live there. I liked the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Page. It was well put together, had the most people who "liked" them of the library pages in Las Vegas I saw and was overall a good page.
I think facebook is a good thing for people to have because it lets you connect with people you may not see as much as you would like. It can also connect you with people you have lost touch with over the years such as family who are out of state, old classmates or old friends who have drifted away. I have found people on facebook and reconnected with people on facebook and think it is great thing,
I think it is a positive thing for libraries to have facebook pages so people can see what is going on with the library. Some people don't come into the library often, but still want to know what events are happening and having a facebook page can help them keep up to date on events that may be happening. One bad thing about it is that if someone likes the page they may be bombarded with updates from the library if the person running the page is too much into it. If they are posting an update every hour it can get annoying.

Picnik Module
I just completed the picnic module. I found it to be pretty neat. I have seen many people on facebook use this site but I have never personally used it. I think its something that would be neat to use for maybe scrapbooks or on facebook and twitter like many people do today.
I think I would use this at some point. Maybe for a Christmas Card in the future or something along those lines. This wasn't my favorite module of the ones we have done, but that is probably because I am not so much a picture person. I think if you are into photography or pictures then this would be a great site for you to learn to use and access a great deal.

Twitter Expericene
This is probably my favorite module. I have been on Twitter since 2009 and I love it. I feel like it is the most legitimate way to connect with people all over including celebrities. Yes, I know that may sound weird but they have a way of verifying celebrities so you know that it is the real deal, which I like (yes I do follow celebrities and tweet with them :) ). I just like being able to see what others are doing without the hassle of dealing with the things like you do on Facebook such as spam or game requests.

Flickr Experience/Photo
I have browsed around flickr before doing the module today. I was used to it but I have used photobucket more in the past. I looked around on flickr and put Lafayette, Indiana in the search bar and found a really neat black and white picture of downtown. I think it really shows the essence of downtown Lafayette.

RSS Feeds Module--September 18
I just finished doing the RSS feeds module. I had heard of these before and had always so saw the links at the bottom of most sites but never really knew what they were or what RSS stood for. I think it is a very helpful and useful thing to use. Instead of having to go to the site every single day to look up what you want you can have it right in your email and look at everything in one place. This is definitely something I will be using on my own in the future.

The Start of 23 Things
So this is my first ever blog post. This whole 23 things project seems like it will be pretty fun. There are a lot of programs we are going over I haven't used such as blogger so it will be interesting to see how this goes. I am pretty computer savvy so I don't think I will have much trouble with these 23 things.
